Have you ever told a lie? Did people believe it? We know that lying is sin and yet sometimes it appears people would rather believe a lie than accept the truth.
The Bible says, “Let no man deceive you by any means for that day shall not come, except there comes a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition (this is the King of the North or Antichrist (as many refer to him).” (II Thessalonians 2:3)
“This evil man will come to do the work of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders…and will use every kind of deception to fool those who are on their way to destruction (or will perish) because they received not the love of the truth that they might be saved…but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” (II Thessalonians 2:9 – 12)
These scriptures refer to the End Times, when the son of perdition will deceive with signs and wonders and many will believe these lies because they wouldn’t receive the truth that would save them. In other words, they chose to believe a lie (Satan) rather than accept God’s truth.
When I read that statement, “They wouldn’t receive the truth that would save them…” I was awestruck by the power behind those words. God offered mankind a remedy…the truth that would save them, which is to believe and confess that His Son, Jesus, came and died on the cross and we are redeemed by his blood that He shed on the cross for our sins…and He was resurrected on the third day… this is salvation. It is the truth and yet many people would rather believe a lie that…
1) Jesus did not come to earth; that
2) Jesus was not the Messiah; that
3) To be good is enough to make it to heaven; that
4) Hell isn’t real…
5) What is the lie you prefer to believe rather than accept God’s truth that would save you?
