Do you know the story of Abraham in the Bible? God made him a promise that he would be the “father of many nations.” (Genesis Chapter 17)
That may not sound miraculous, but Abraham was 99 years old and his wife, Sarah, had not had any children until God stepped in. What was Abraham’s response to this promise? He believed God! He never wavered in his faith that God would do just what he promised…in spite of the “optics.” (Romans 4:17 – 20)
There are many times when God steps into my situation and gives me a promise. For example, years ago, God made me a promise that has not yet been fulfilled. I have a decision to make…will I believe God, like Abraham did and not waver in my faith or will I stand in disbelief because I don’t see anything happening?
God is not just the God of the Universe…He is the God of the Impossible! We can trust what He says, but we must first know what He is saying to us and that takes time to read His Word (the Bible), pray and have fellowship with him, obedience on our part (to do what He says) and a commitment not to waver in our faith…to do like Abraham did…to stand on His promises.
