FORGIVENESS

I wish I could say FORGIVENESS was easy for me, but not always. Looking back over my life, I often made the decision to wallow in my pain…I spent so much time isolating myself to avoid hurt and disappointment, but I also lost out on so many wonderful relationships.
I don’t believe, however, this was ever what God intended.
Matthew 18: 21 – 22 (please read Matthew 18: 21 – 35)
“Then Peter came to him and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?”
“No!” Jesus replied, “Seventy times seven!”
In essence, Jesus was saying we should always have a heart that forgives. Many people believe they have forgiven, but I believe a heart that forgives not only lets it go but chooses to LOVE.
“Lord, please forgive me for not trusting you enough to “let it go” and move on to what you have in store for me. May I choose love and forgiveness over my own tendency to isolate myself, hold onto the hurt, and grieve. Lord, please help me to “be” all that you would have me to be…to LOVE as you would have me to LOVE.”
