REVELATION...THE SEALS...A STUDY OF THE END TIMES (Part I)

I have been on a journey to understand the end times for many years…not consistently, as I would start, stop, then pick it up again. I am asking God to help me rightly divide the Word of God to understand what looks like “puzzle pieces (to me)” with references to the end times in various parts of the Bible. You will find references in Daniel, Matthew, Mark, and Revelation (to name a few).

Looking back at notes I penned in 2018, I see references in Revelation 6, where the Lamb breaks the first six (of seven) seals. The 1st seal, John saw a “white horse…its rider carried a bow, and a crown was placed on his head. He rode out to win many battles and gain the victory.” (Revelation 6:2)

The 2nd seal also speaks of war as it says, “And another horse appeared, a red one. Its rider was given a mighty sword and the authority to remove peace from the Earth. And there was war and slaughter everywhere.” (Revelation 6:3–4)

I believe these first 2 seals coincide with the reference in Matthew 24:7 that says, “Nations and kingdoms will proclaim war against each other.”

The 3rd seal says John saw, “a black horse, and its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. And a voice from among the four living beings said, “A loaf of wheat bread or three loaves of barley for a day’s pay. And, don’t waste the olive oil and wine.” (Revelation 6:5–6)

And, the 4th seal says, “I looked up and saw a horse whose color was pale green like a corpse. And Death was the name of its rider, who was followed around by the Grave. They were given authority over one-fourth of the Earth, to kill with the sword and famine and disease and wild animals.”

I believe this seal coincides with the reference in Matthew 24:7 -8 that says, “and there will be famines and earthquakes in many parts of the world. All these are the beginning of sorrows.” We will look at the 3 remaining seals during our next End Times corner…
